The Hasèna Academy
The Hasèna Academy is an institution focused on the study of ideas and the development of independent thought.
It was established to develop and improve critical thinking, supported by a structured progression of reading, debate, and writing through which ideas are engaged, examined, and articulated with clarity.
Our Method
The Academy structures its programmes around themes rather than subjects across three 16-week cycles per year. Students enrol in a single theme per cycle and complete the full academic sequence:
- The book Hub (6weeks)
The Reading Stage focuses on engagement with classical and contemporary texts around thecycle theme.
- The Debate Hub ( 4 weeks)
The debate Stage focuses on examining ideas through structured discussion surrounding the cycle theme. Which are put into practice during our debate session called “spill the matcha” at the end of the stage.
- The Writing Hub (6 weeks)
The Writing Stage focuses on developing analytical writing and argument within the cycle theme. Successful work may be considered for publication with partnered journals.
